A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole and the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Thursday met behind closed doors.
The two political leaders went to the meeting which lasted two hours shortly after Bankole arrived the Oke-Mosan secretariat around 4.12pm.
The former speaker had defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress last week alongside a former governor of the state, Gbenga Daniel, and met with the president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) on Monday .
Our correspondent gathered that Bankole’s defection was a grand plot to check the popularity of the immediate past governor, Ibikunle Amosun.
Both Amosun and Bankole are from the Ogun Central Senatorial district which is believed to be a strong base for the victory of any party at the poll.
The details of the meeting were not disclosed, but, our correspondent gathered that Bankole was brought in to make the second term ambition of the governor seamless in the district.
When asked of his impression of the Abiodun administration, Bankole said, “So far, so good.”
He added that his meetings with both the President and governor had “good outcomes.”
When asked about what he would bringing to the APC, he said, “You would soon find out.” and left in a black Lexus 570 with no number plate.
