The Adedeji Adewole Lugard Foundation gave hope to the parents and students recently, when it gave out over 2000 copies of note books, to indigent pupils of various public and private schools in Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State.
The convener of the initiative, Mr. Adedeji Adewole Lugard, who revealed while presenting the books stated that the gesture was meant to help develop the pupils as well as assist indigent parents to purchase necessary books for their wards.
Mr. Adedeji said that the donation of the exercise books is part of his project in championing and aid the education of some less privileged children and that the event was also done to celebrate his birthday anniversary.
In his words, “he said he wants to relieve the burden of our parents due to the economy situation. And for the pupils to pursue their ambitions at the same time, it will help enrich their education”
He also stated that school children in our communities need support from NGOs and other corporate bodies, adding that the initiative was established in order to cater for such children by providing them with educational materials.
He also urged the government to emphasize the importance of reading in public schools as well as investing more in the nation’s educational sector. He further advised that students on the need to pursue and dedicate their energy to achieving academic excellence.
