Admiral Alade Calls for Unity of Purpose as Akoko Women Chiefs Expresses Support for his Senatorial Ambition

THE Association of Akoko Women’s Chief under the leadership of Chief Oladunni as their president endorsed senate aspirations of Rear Admiral Samuel Ilesanmi Alade rtd (SIA) ahead of 2023 general election. This endorsement was bestowed on him during their substantial meeting at the palace of Olukare of Ikare in Akoko Northeast Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Having keenly studied the activities of Admiral Alade both in the past and present made them to jump into conclusion that, he is a responsible community developer, visionary leader that deserves their unalloyed support.

According to the Yeyelua of Irun, Chief Mrs Animola who introduced the Senatorial aspirant to the entire Chiefs said Rear Admiral Alade is one of Akoko’s pride who has done Akoko proud in his chosen career. Princess Animola explained that, SIA humility, accessibility, contributions and his campaign for unity and development of Akoko so far really need to be reckoned with now.

In his own recommendation, the DG of SIA political campaign team, Hon Prince Dayo Bello pointed to so many achievements of Alade when he was in service as Naval officer. He spoke with confidence that, SIA will never disappoint the Senatorial District If given the chance to represent.

At the same time, Hon. Aloma from Akoko Northeast also prayed for the Akoko Women Chiefs and salute their various efforts so far to ensure that Akoko continue to swim in unity. He maintained that, Akoko South Federal Constituency has spent 3 consecutive terms with the mantle in the hand of Senator Ajayi Boroffice. To avert any political marginalization, there is need for Akoko North Federal Constituency too to also benefit the political seat since Owo/Ose has also done their own 3 terms in the previous dispensation.

He praised the annual scholarship program of SIA which has really helped alot of Akoko poor indigenes, an achievement that has scored him hundred percent pass mark.

He also explained that Admiral has helped so many Akoko indigenes into the Nigeria Defence Accademy NDA of which has earned him another golden opportunity to consider by Akoko right thinking person to support his political aspirations. He therefore urged Akoko Northwest to honour the existing rotation agreement between Akoko Northwest and Northeast Federal Constituency for the sake of unity, prosperity and love.

In her own reaction, Shayo’s mother who is one of the prominent Akoko Northeast political leaders that accompanied the Senatorial aspirant to the meeting, thanked the women chiefs for the trust they have in SIA and encouraged them to continue with the love that keeps the noble association going till date.

She urged them to support Alade senate Project as the only hope for now due to the good vision that he has for the entire Ondo North Senatorial District to rapidly develop. She maintained that, Asiwaju Rufus Giwa of bleseed memory has left us with good heritage and memory for the present and next generation due to his contributions to the development of Akoko unlike what we have now.

Hon. Aboy also expressed his excitement for seeing a formidable association like that of Akoko Women Chiefs. And he urged them not to look back because Alade will deliver.

The president of the Association, Chief Oladunni prayed for the success of the Admiral Alade senate project and assured him the Association full backing. Through their president, the association unanimously make a request for a multipurpose hall because they are lacking of a conducive and befitting place to holds their meeting.

In his response, the senate aspirant Admiral Alade promised the Women Chiefs his full cooperation, support, prompt response to any of their request and bring the dividend of democracy to them.

“The only thing that I think has been giving Akoko serious setback is lack of love”.

He added by calling for unity of purpose as the only panacea.

In response to the association request at the meeting, Alade promised to build a multipurpose hall for the Association in his first year in office since it is one of their great challenges and to support them in any area they are in needs of his office urgent attention.

He however pledged to all Ondo North traditional rulers of his sonship responsiblity, obedience and respect because traditional ruler office deserve a huge respect no matter the position you are. Alade said.

This meeting was held on Wednesday 29 of September at the palace of Olukare of Ikare Akoko.

Among those who accompanied SIA to the meeting are; Hon. Sarafa, Hon. Tijani Salau, Hon. Gbobaniyi, Hon. Jackson, Comrade Olagoke Adeyanju, Comrade Omojola, Comrade Adelola Tinuke, Comrade Shade, Ademola Nike, Hon. Omotola.
