Four suspected cultists have been apprehended by the police in Iree , Osun State , while allegedly planning mayhem .
The suspects were said to have been arrested by the men of the Anti -Cultism Unit of the state police command in their hideout following a tip -off .
A source in Iree , who spoke on condition of anonymity, told PUNCH Metro on Sunday that the suspects had been moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Osogbo for further action .
When contacted for confirmation , the spokesperson for the command, Yemisi Opalola, said the suspects were arrested last Friday in Iree .
She stated , “ Upon the information received on Friday , February 12 , men of Anti – Cultism Unit from the State Criminal Investigation Department swooped on the suspects and effected their arrest .
“ Those arrested are Akintade Wisdom , Sodiq Opeyemi , Olayinka Fadeyi and Azeez Olalekan. Upon interrogation , we discovered that they are not students of the polytechnic , but their mission was to cause chaos on the campus. They were immediately handed over to operatives
